I’VE HEARD THAT CARBOHYDRATES MAKE YOU GAIN WEIGHT, IS THAT TRUE?
FALSE. Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of fuel, as they are a supply of energy for the brain and central nervous system. For every gram of carbohydrate is 4 calories. It’s fat that is on the higher scale of 9 calories for every gram.
The key is to make sure you have the right balance, as all macronutrients are important to the body in their own way. The major component in all of this is how many calories you are consuming, if you are consuming more than you should then you will gain weight. Carbohydrates are NOT the enemy, it's eating too many calories that is.
